Named the 2017 National Sports Media Association's MN Sportscaster of the Year, John is the former Radio play-by-play voice of the Charlotte Hornets.
In addition John spent over a decade as the Executive Producer and Studio Host for the Minnesota Timberwolves Radio Network, was the play-by-play voice for the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx and former host of Wolves Weekly on Fox Sports North. ​

A 2002 graduate of Ohio University. John's career started in Albert Lea, MN where he broadcasted high school sports and covered the MN Timberwolves, Twins, Vikings and Wild.

In 2006 John was the voice of Northern Michigan Athletics calling D1 hockey and D2 volleyball, while serving as host and analyst for football and fill-in basketball play by play.

An avid outdoorsman and trail runner, John and his family currently live in Minneapolis.
